Paris Day Two

Hey Jelly Beans.

Hope all is well with all reading this. So today I had the most delicious breakfast first thing. What a fab way to start my day.

After devouring breakfast I booked a taxi and took a trip to this amazing place below. The Eiffel Tower.

Upon arriving the site above greeted me. Such a breath-taking sight which I never thought I was going to see. So what did I do next?? I climbed to the top!

Did you know.....

  • The Eiffel tower is 121 years old. It was built by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Exposition Universelle

  • Since the 1980s, the monument has regularly been renovated, restored and adapted for an ever-growing public.

  • Over the decades, the Eiffel tower has seen remarkable achievements, extraordinary light shows, and prestigious visitors. A mythical and audacious site, it has always inspired artists and challenges.

  • As France’s symbol in the world, and the showcase of Paris, today it welcomes almost 7 million visitors a year (around 75% of whom are foreigners), making it the most visited monument that you have to pay for in the world.
That last bullet point made me smile some what. To be just 1 of the 7 million people to visit the tower each year is brilliant.

Once I had reached the top I had a great sense of achievement. 669 steps later and I had reached level 2. Unfortunately you are unable to reach level 3 which in total has 1,665 steps. Drinking in the view around me of Paris as I was heading up was simply magical. Plenty of opportunity's for photo taking and to go at your own speed. The way back down took half the time to reach the ground which was a shame. Although I did catch a little boy  (guessing around 8) say to his Father "Why can't they just put those moving step thingys in? It would be much quicker?" He did make me laugh at that point. Such an innocent little chap speaking his mind.

I had a fantastic day today all in all. If any one reading this gets the chance to climb the Eiffel Tower, don't pass the chance. You will not be disappointed when you reach the top. I will leave you with a couple of snaps from today.

Speak soon Lovelies

Berlin Day 2

Hello Jelly Beans, So todays post is going to be short and sweet, simply because I visited one place and then had to come home due to feeling a little poorly. So first thing was breakfast. Being summoned to the breakfast room this sight greeted me. Freshly squeezed juices, different teas and coffee. Doughnuts, croissants, toast, muffins both sweet and savoury, a huge selection of cereal and of course a fried breakfast. I went for some simple toast and a cuppa tea. Before heading out in the taxi to my next location to explore.   So I hear you all shout "where did you go today"? Well my dear friends, I shall tell you. Today I took a trip to the iconic landmark that is. The Berlin Wall. Well what can I tell you about this wall. The Berlin Wall was a barrier constructed by the German Democratic Republic starting on 13 August 1961, that completely cut off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin. The barrier included guard towers placed along large ...

Ford Street Car 1.6 Luxury - Cute & Affordable

Good Evening Everyone. Today I thought that I would start something slightly different as a running series. Car/vehicle reviews. Now I absolutely love my cars and vehicles so thought I would kick off this series with my very own love....The Ford Street Ka!! As much a fashion accessory as a mode of transport, the Street Ka is cute enough to have character, cheap enough to be bought by a single girl about town and sensible enough to serve a useful purpose while it looks good. The solid underpinnings of the car have been stiffened and tweaked to release a wee bit more performance, but this is not a vehicle with any serious sporting pretensions. It's eminently chuckable, but the limitations of the 1.6-litre engine prevent even clog-footed drivers getting themselves into trouble. Around town it's at its best, darting in and out of traffic, nipping into tight parking spaces and performing neat little U-turns. On the motorway it gets a bit too talkative but is f...
